ES: Congratulations on the publication of The Girl You Lost, and many thanks for taking the time to share your Hot Holidays! with us. So can we start by you telling us where you spent your last holiday and why you chose to go there?

KC: Our last holiday was Las Vegas! in 2012 (which I’ve just realised is far too long ago!) My husband and I went there in 2010 and absolutely loved it so we couldn’t wait to go back.

ES: That’s a great choice. So much to do in Vegas! What’s your favourite type of holiday?

KC: I do love sitting by the pool in a resort and huge luxury hotels! That doesn’t leave much time for sampling the local culture though!

ES: And your least favourite?

KC: My least favourite thing to do on holiday is sight-seeing!

ES: Where did you spend your best ever holiday and what made it so memorable?

KC: Las Vegas is my favourite place to holiday. It’s just like being in another world! The atmosphere is so relaxed and I love everything about it!

ES: Have you ever had any holiday or travel disasters?

KC: Yes, I once got stuck at the airport for 15 hours on our way to Tenerife as our plane hadn’t arrived! It was a nightmare and we ended up missing out on some of the holiday as we were so tired we had to sleep instead of relaxing by the pool.

ES: Tell us about a place you long to visit and the reasons why.

KC: I’d love to go to the Maldives as it looks so calm and peaceful. I could get a lot of reading done there!

ES: Who’s your favourite travelling companion(s) or do you prefer your own company?

KC: I have to say my husband or I’ll get into trouble! Seriously though, we do have great holidays together and luckily like the same places.

ES: Have you ever had a holiday romance? If so, details, please!

KC: No, never! I’ve only ever been on holiday with partners!

ES: How would you spend your dream twenty-four hours if you could travel to multiple, worldwide destinations with no travel restrictions?

KC: Las Vegas, then the Maldives, then back to Las Vegas!!!

ES: What tip or piece of advice would you give to holidaymakers and/or travellers?

KC: Take plenty of entertainment with you to the airport (like a book or iPad) just in case you get stranded!!

ES: Great. Thank you. And before we finish, would you like to share the synopsis of The Girl You Lost with us?

KC: Here it is: Eighteen years ago your baby daughter was snatched. Today, she came back.
Eighteen years ago, Simone Porter’s six-month-old daughter, Helena, was abducted. Simone and husband, Matt, have slowly rebuilt their shattered lives, but the pain at losing their child has never left them.
Then a young woman, Grace, appears out of the blue and tells Simone she has information about her stolen baby. But just who is Grace – and can Simone trust her?
When Grace herself disappears, Simone becomes embroiled in a desperate search for her daughter and the woman who has vital clues about her whereabouts.
Simone is inching closer to the truth but it’ll take her into dangerous and disturbing territory.
Simone lost her baby. Will she lose her life trying to find her?

ES: Wow! That has to go on my TBR pile! Thanks, so much, Kat, and all the best with The Girl You Lost.
