I’ve been enjoying my wonderful Christmas presents.\u00a0 Santa\u00a0was very thoughtful with them and very good to me this year.\u00a0 I’ve used my slow cooker several times – oh my God!\u00a0 how gooooooood can slow cooked lamb taste? –\u00a0almost finished my Agatha Christie, put out my gorgeous, gorgeous Jo Malone candle, worn my beautiful watch and autographed copies of Sweet Lady with my new pen!!\u00a0<\/p>\n
I actually can’t believe that Christmas and New Year have come and gone.\u00a0 Usually it seems to drag out a bit, but this year – it was here and then it wasn’t!\u00a0\u00a0 And now that we’re well into 2013 – well four days! – I HAVE TO get back to Singles in India.\u00a0 IIt’s been far too long since I worked on it and at the moment I’ve got lots of social things on for the next three weeks (which is great!) but I have to get the discipline back to sit and write.\u00a0 Because writing’s what I do!\u00a0 it’s too easy to get into the I’ll-just-put-on-the-tv-while-I-have-a-coffee <\/em>habit.\u00a0 I can’t believe some of the stuff I’ve found myself watching lately to then suddenly discover that three hours have gone.\u00a0 Three hours that I could have spent writing.\u00a0 Mind you, I have to admit that I love Homes Under the Hammer.\u00a0 I also watched a couple of episodes of Wanted Down Under.\u00a0 It was so awful it was compulsive viewing because the people in it were unbelievable.\u00a0 Basically the format is that family say they want to emigrate to Australia and get a week’s free holiday\u00a0to decide whether they like it or not.\u00a0 Amazing to see whinging Glaswegians who live in a small terraced house criticising beautiful, large,\u00a0open-planned homes with pools as “dreadful” and “not what I could live in”.\u00a0 So why am I watching it???<\/p>\n Okay\u00a0– TV off!\u00a0 And back to the keyboard.\u00a0 Singles in India is taking shape!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I am really pleased and excited to announce that the wonderful, award-winning\u00a0Antiguan writer Joanne C.
