Yes! \u00a0We\u2019ve been delighted, ecstatic, over-the-moon to discover that our short film Only the Lonely has been chosen for the prestigious Underwire Film Festival to be held at the Barbican on 22nd November. \u00a0Yay! \u00a0Watching the film is an indescribable feeling; seeing the characters come to life and speak \u201cyour\u201d words is very rewarding and fulfilling. \u00a0Now seeing it on the big screen will be a dream come true. \u00a0 And….. the film is also nominated for an award in the XX Category – best on-screen protagonist. \u00a0How exciting! Continuing the writing theme, I went to a talk – Writing Together – given by the long-time team of Ian Hislop and Nick Newman at the Imperial War Museum on Wednesday night and very enjoyable it was. \u00a0Not just enjoyable but informative and entertaining. \u00a0I have to confess that I am a huge Have I Got News For You fan and \u00a0love Ian so meeting him was brilliant.<\/p>\n

I sat up the front and lapped up their advice – which wasn\u2019t just about collaborative writing but also about script-writing in general and I came away feeling I\u2019d learned a lot and it had been a very worthwhile evening. \u00a0 This is what\u2019s so great about living back in London – there\u2019s so much going on!<\/p>\n

I had a trip to the Queen\u2019s Theatre in Hornchurch last night with AOF*. \u00a0For those whose don\u2019t know it, it\u2019s a brilliant 500-seat theatre that puts on amazing shows. \u00a0Last night it was Once. \u00a0Now, while it\u2019s not the best musical in the world imho, I have to say the energy from the multi-talented cast was off the scale. \u00a0And I loved the set, especially the way the actors moved it around. \u00a0I just for a couple of the ballads a bit samey and the show was about 3 songs too long for me. \u00a0But I did enjoy it. \u00a0It\u2019s on for another three weeks so if you get the chance do go and see it.<\/p>\n

And another joy of living back here is that the Daughter can come visit. \u00a0And she has – so I\u2019m in Mother Heaven at the moment. \u00a0She\u2019s had a nasty accident and is suffering but smiles and stays cheerful through it all. \ud83d\udc96\u00a0\ud83d\udc96\u00a0\ud83d\udc96\u00a0her so much!<\/p>\n
