Well!\u00a0 As I was saying last week I think I’ve been taken over by an alien, and as today I completed my FOURTH workout at the pool in seven days I think it really is the case.\u00a0 I feel so THIN!!\u00a0 Looking in the mirror tells me that I don’t look that different, well, I don’t look any different, really, but I feel good and that’s the main thing.\u00a0 And smug., as you’ve probably already gathered.<\/p>\n
I have been knocked out by the enquiries I’ve received about my Actor’s Factory.\u00a0 Talented people I’d feared I’d never work with again have been in touch -a couple of real BLASTS FROM THE PAST – fantastic!\u00a0 I’ve even had an equiry from someone in Southampton!\u00a0 I can’t wait to start.<\/p>\n
I had a lovely few days – lunch with my friend KF on Sunday in Upminster.\u00a0 Lovely to see her again and we actually managed to sit in the sun!\u00a0 I thought I was back in Antigua; not just with the sunshine but with all the potholes in the roads.\u00a0 From the A127 to the Thatched House in Upminster it was like playing “Avoid the Potholes”.<\/p>\n
Talking of Antiguan roads reminds me that I had a bit of an incident in Antigua that I didn’t tell you about, concerning the car.\u00a0 As most of you know I keep my little old banger Ellie the Elantra in Antigua.\u00a0 But she’s been playing up lately.\u00a0 She’s 13 now, which in car-years is getting on a bit and so she’s getting the car equivalent of the menopause,\u00a0I think.\u00a0 She keeps on overheating and as her temperature guage is broken I don’t know what’s happening until she shudders to a stop with steam pouring out from under the bonnet.\u00a0 On Easter Saturday afternoon I was driving along Old Parham Road when just that happened.\u00a0 A phone call to the Fella brought the Mechanic to my rescue.\u00a0 But given that it was 5pm on Saturday afternoon he’d already made a start on the rum.\u00a0 He secured the tow rope after four attempts and it was decided that I would ride with him, the Mechanic, while his Friend steered Ellie as I’d never steered a car that was being towed before.\u00a0 Now, there’s no way I’d get in a car in UK with someone smelling of rum, but there in Antigua\u00a0I did as I\u00a0felt I had no option but to let him drive me the short distance home to Five Islands..<\/p>\n
I was less scared on the Detonator at Thorpe Park.<\/p>\n
We took all the potholes; the Mechanic kept on suddenly remembering he was towing and slammed the brakes on.\u00a0 When we got the the junction of Perry Bay Road and Five Islands Road we turned\u00a0right only for everyone to start shouting at us and the Friend to toot Ellie’s horn\u00a0to let us know\u00a0she’d become detached from us.\u00a0 There followed much reversing and re-tying.\u00a0 We finally got\u00a0to nAvocado Cottage\u00a0– and then I hit the rum to steady my nerves!\u00a0 And poor Ellie is still unfixed until my next visit.<\/p>\n
And the more astute among you will realise that i haven’t mentioned the W word at all.\u00a0 That’s because\u00a0I haven’t done much writing, unfortunately.\u00a0 I’ve been too busy with the Actors’ Factory and I’m also going to be teaching at Chameleon Peforming Arts, Rayleigh on Tuesday evenings starting 7th May, so there’s been a lot to prepare.<\/p>\n
But that’s the end of the excuses.\u00a0 Work on Singles In India starts again tomorrow!<\/p>\n
