In the last twenty-four hours I’ve tried very hard to find another acting job as Ladykillers is in its last four weeks. Boo! Boo! Sob! Sob!<\/p>\n
I was gutted to find out that my planned trip to Antigua next month has ruled me out of \u00a0applying for several juicy parts. \u00a0So, the way I’ve decided to deal with this disappointment is to put myself forward for loads of other parts, thus turning a negative into a positive. \u00a0I much prefer to be pro-active and have never been one to let the grass grow under my feet. \u00a0And, the nature of the world of acting is thus; if you can’t take the rejection get out of the audition room. Next!<\/p>\n
But, my new agent has cast a rehearsed reading of Still Single and Going Grey, which will take place while I’m out of the country and this has left me feeling gutted. Gutted that I can’t go along to watch and take advantage of the occasion to network, but also – and it pains me to admit this – the uneasy stirrings of jealousy towards the actors who are performing the reading. \u00a0This is unlike me as I always wish people well, believing that we all share in each others success and unkind thoughts always come back on you. \u00a0And it’s shown me a side to myself that I don’t like very much!!<\/p>\n
Of course, I could cancel the trip, but I need to go as there are things to be sorted out and I’m also looking forward to it so I have no grounds for complaint. So I want to publicly declare my support for SSAGG, for KSW Productions and all those concerned.<\/p>\n
I know that what’s for me won’t pass me by and perhaps sometimes we need these little niggles to make us take a look at ourselves and check our stinking thinking!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
