Stormy Weather!

I was surprised not to see an Ark floating down London Road this morning as I had the joy of returning home on the bus (yes, I kid you not!) after taking my car back to Mr Clutch in Southend because it failed its MOT yesterday. Boo hoo! Some dear, kind, person took the back of the wing mirror a couple of weeks ago and because it left sharp edges exposed it failed.

Travelling by bus is an adventure I won’t want to repeat too often. First of all, the no 1, doesn’t appear to keep to the timetable shown at the bus stop. It wasn’t just because it was raining this morning – yesterday was the same. No bus for almost half an hour in spite of the timetable claiming there should be one every six or seven minutes. And then, getting on is like doing an assault course. I thought I’d walked into some kind of Guiness Book of Records attempt: how many buggies can you get onto one bus? Answer – at least three if two of them are double. They’re the size of Reliant Robins! And you mustn’t put your phone down from your ear at any time you and your jumbo size buggy are getting onto the bus, or while you’re paying your fare, or while you’re riding, taking up the space of six passengers. Dear God! Thank you that I’ve got a little car!

So, Mrs Grumpy now feels better at having got that off her chest and is going to get on with some writing. I’ve actually already written two sketches today for Maisie and Em, which we’re going to film in November in Antigua. And now it’s back to Sweet Lady, which has taken shape nicely and I can see THE END in sight. I hope you all have a dry day – and anyone in the flooded areas, I’m thinking of you.
