Noisy, Dusty, Busy Easter Monday!

Avocado Cottage is full of workmen, even though it’s Easter Monday, and so it’s noisy, dusty and busy.  But I couldn’t be happier to see the work getting done!  This has been such a flying visit but I’ve got more done than I could have dreamed of and what’s not done before I leave will be left in the hands of my very compentent project manager S, and I couldn’t leave it with a better person.

I’ve bought a beautiful little bistro set for the veranda and a wonderful rocking-chair – so wonderful, in fact, that I’m going back for another one.  There’s something almost magical about sitting on a rocking-chair on a veranda – especially if you’ve got a rum punch in your hand!!  And once the pool’s in later this year………..  You’re all very welcome!

I’ve had a great catch up with fellow writer Joanne Hillhouse – great to talk to her again. and I’m hoping to see Heather D before I leave as we have to finalise plans for TAAOMAE shoot, planned for later this summer.

The weather hasn’t been too good, but I’ve been too busy to go to the beach so it really hasn’t mattered and besides the island needs the rain.  If it had been gorgeous weather I’d have probably been a bit resentful at not being able to go to the beach so it’s all worked out as it should!

Yesterday afternoon and evening I had a wonderful time with my dear friends B – a very talented writer – and C at their place in Jolly Harbour.  We sat drinking good wine, eating tasty chicken and chatting and as it got dark we could see a thousand stars above us and when the clouds parted an occasional glimpse of a fat, creamy waning mood.  Great company, stunning location – just a perfect evening!

One negative note is that I haven’t written one word of SINGLES IN INDIA, but I just haven’t been able to concentrate; there’s been so much to do my feet haven’t touched the ground and so that will have to wait until I’m back in UK.

And there in UK great things are waiting!  We’ve got the shoot details for GOING THE DISTANCE, Kerry-Anne Whyte’s short film, which is really exciting, and while I’ve been here I’ve also been working on the final details of my LATEST PROJECT.  Now that really IS exciting – full details about it next week.
