After a break of more than two years I have finally got my writing mojo back and am pleased to announce that I have a new book out on 9th December! A Body in the Banjo is (I hope) the first in a series of cosy mysteries with unlikely sleuth Cissie Partridge as the protagonist.
It’s November 1958 and Dagenham is excitedly awaiting Bonfire Night. Cissie Partridge isn’t too keen on fireworks but she generously donates to the local children doing Penny for the Guy. Cissie is content with her lot. She loves her husband Harold. She shops; she cooks; she reads at every opportunity; she helps out at the Docklands Settlement and she gets on with her neighbours. Cissie is sharp and observant and not much gets past her. Then, one morning, she finds a body…
As the title suggests this book, like two of my previous Dagenham based novels, is set in a fictitious banjo. A banjo? If you know you know!!
