Lonesome Mango and Strawberry Moon

My first mango!

In what has been a very tense, stressful week I was overjoyed to get this photo from my friend and neighbour in Antigua, S.  It is the FIRST EVER MANGO to grow on the tree to the rear garden of Avocado Cottage.  I planted the tree three years ago and for a while I thought it had died.  Yet it’s suddenly flourishing and has produced this large, round, perfect mango. My only sadness is that I didn’t make it to Antigua last week as I’d planned and then I could have picked and eaten it myself!!   Never mind!  No point saying “if only”. To quote a well known saying……. If my aunt had balls she’d be my uncle!

Yes, it’s been another stressful week.  We’re no further forward on the sale of Mum’s flat, although it appears that a mistake was made twelve years ago when Mum bought it and so now we’re trying to get the person responsible to put it right.  I’m doing my best to stay positive – although I have to admit it’s been hard – but after a talking to from the Daughter, who practises the Law of Attraction much better than I do – I’m back on track!

I had a very theatrical week – first of all I went to see Parklands Junior School’s performance of Joseph.  And I have to say it was as amazing as his technicoloured dreamcoat!  Wonderful performances all round, especially from E M one of my Junior Drama members at Stages Studios in the role of Narrator.  Well done!  I’d forgotten how good the songs are.  I saw the West End production a few years ago and wasn’t impressed but this production was fantastic.

And at AST on Friday night I was able to congratulate Anna Scher in person on her MBE, together with the rest of the class.  An honour and a privilege to be a part of the Anna Scher Theatre and although I won’t be able to attend for a few months now because of Ladykillers – we start this week!!!  Eekkk!!   #excited!! – I’ll be there in spirit every Friday night.

And this week is set to be another dramatic one according to my favourite astrologer Lorna Bevan (www.hareinthemoonastrology.co.uk). Lorna predicted a very emotional time through June – and she wasn’t wrong!!  And now Mercury turns backwards and at the same time Jupiter enters Cancer.  The last time that happened was July 2001 – and we all know what happened six weeks after that!  Please, can we have drama without deaths and destruction??  I’ll be getting all the drama I need from WIMBLEDON!!   WOO HOO!  My favourite two weeks of the summer.  Rooting for Rafa and Andy and I can’t see any of the women beating Serena.

Tonight is Full Moon – known as a Strawberry Moon – it’s huge as it’s the time when the Moon gets closest to the Earth.  I love the Moon – it fascinates me and might explain why I sometimes behave like a lunatic!  I was particularly taken with this glorious image of the Strawberry Moon.  I’ll leave you with it…….. whatever happens I hope your week (and mine!) is peaceful and abundant.

A glorious strawberry in the sky….
